Staffing Changes

Hi all! I am both sad & excited to announce some staffing changes in Foster Care. I (KP) will no longer be a part of the team. When Monica came on board last September, the intention was that I would be mostly Data & Technology, but still help behind the scenes in Foster. Foster is a massive job (we currently have just about as many animals in foster as we do in the shelter), and it turns out that Data & Technology is a pretty big job, too, if it's done correctly! So, I just haven't been able to give Monica the support that the program needs & still get everything done that's needed on the tech side. So, I am now the Data & Technology Manager. I'm super excited about this new role, as those of you who know me know that I'm a stickler for record-keeping! At the same time, though, it's very hard for me to step away from Foster, because Foster is what I lived and breathed for years. It's my baby, and I'm very protecting of it. But, it's time for my baby to move on.

Anyway, some rearranging was done, and Foster now has two full time staff members! It has long been needed, and I think it will be really great, in terms of support for our foster families & foster animals, as well as for allowing Monica to retain some of her sanity. 😉 So, please allow me to introduce you to Michael Cestero! If you've been in the shelter much, you probably know Michael. He's been here longer than I have, and was most recently the Feline Health & Behavior Coordinator. He & Monica will be co-coordinators. They'll be figuring out how they want to split up duties here in the next little bit, but they'll keep you updated if there will be any changes that you'll notice. The phone numbers, email addresses, etc. will stay the same, except that mine will come out. You may still see my name here & there as I finish up the stuff I was in the middle of, but then it will be all them. 🙂
